What are the reception's operating hours?

Monday - Saturday: 8:00 am - 6:30 pm

Sunday: 9:00 am - 2:30 pm

If you are arriving after hours please contact MAISONETTE direct to find out the late arrival instructions.

Please note that guests staying 1-night must check-in by 6:30 pm (close of reception). It is not possible for guests staying one night to check in outside normal reception opening times.

The front door to the property is locked for security purposes when reception is closed. Your room key will allow you access to the building after the doors are closed so please ensure you keep it with you at all times. Our Front Desk team will assist you if you have any issues accessing the building after hours.

What time is check-in and check-out?


Check-in from 2:00 pm to 7.30 pm. Please contact The Maisonette to advise your ETA before arrival. Guests arriving outside reception opening hours must inform the hotel in advance. 

Please note: Our GWB members are offered priority check-in. 

Please note that guests staying for one night only must check-in by 7:30 pm (close of reception). It is not possible for guests staying one night to check in outside normal reception opening times.

After-hour key collection will only be available if the guest's credit card can be successfully charged for the first night of the booking.

Can I store my luggage?

Yes, if you arrive prior to 2 pm and your room is not ready, we would be happy to store your luggage in our luggage room.

*Sydney Lodges will take no responsibility for valuables left in storage. Please take all valuable items with you.

What is the cancellation policy?

FLEXIBLE: If you have booked the Best Available Rate, cancellation is free of charge until 2pm, 48 hours prior to your arrival date. Any booking modifications, including date changes and/or a full cancellation of your booking made within 48 hours of 2pm on your arrival date will incur a charge equivalent to the value of the first night booked. Any booking modifications requested after check in must occur at least 48 hours prior to the change taking place to avoid any charges. Payment will be taken upon check-in.

NON-REFUNDABLE: If you have booked a non-refundable or promotional rate (including all Stay & Save rates), any cancellation will incur the full cost of the booking. Booking modifications, including date changes are not allowed. Non-refundable bookings will be charged in full upon confirmation.

NO SHOW POLICY: Failure to arrive at the property on the booked check-in date will be treated as a no-show and the remainder of the booking will be cancelled. If you have booked the Best Available Rate, you will incur a charge equivalent to the first night of the booking. If you have booked a non-refundable or promotional rate, you will be charged the full cost of the booking.

BOOKING MODIFICATIONS: For bookings made on the Best Available Rate, booking changes are subject to availability and any applicable charges. If a date change is possible, the originally booked nightly rate may be subject to change and a higher rate may apply.

For bookings made on any non-refundable or promotional rate, booking modifications are not allowed.

NEW YEARS EVE BOOKINGS: If any night falls between 30th December and 1st January (inclusive), your booking requires full prepayment on confirmation and is non-refundable. Bookings during this period should by default have a non-refundable policy, however should this be unclear, this clause would supersede others. Modifications and/or cancellations are strictly not allowed.

Are the rooms serviced daily?

Yes, rooms are serviced daily by housekeeping. If your stay exceeds 7 days a full linen change is provided during the middle of your stay.

We pride ourselves in providing clean accommodation so please talk to Reception if you have seen something that needs to be addressed. 

Is internet access provided?

Yes, Wifi is available at this property. We offer free unlimited access to all guests booking direct. If you have booked through a third party (OTAs such as, Expedia, ... ) we also offer free wireless internet, however, data limitations may apply.


Do you have a restaurant?
No, we do not have a restaurant at the property. Please see the "what restaurants and bars are nearby?" section for nearby dining options.
Do you have a lift / elevator?
No. Access to all three floors of the property are via a central staircase.
Are baby cots and extra beds available?
Yes, there are baby cots available. Bookings are essential so please contact The Maisonette to confirm before your arrival.
Are there cooking facilities?
No, there are no cooking facilities at the property.
Are there laundry facilities?
Laundry service is available around the corner from property.
Do you have a gym?

No, there are no gym facilities at the property.

Are pets allowed?
No, we do not allow pets. We do allow service animals, please speak with the property before your arrival if you will be travelling with a service animal.
Are there smoking rooms available?
No, our property and rooms are all smoke-free in accordance with NSW Legislation.
How far is it to the train station?
Kings Cross Train Station on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra line is a 10 minute walk to The Maisonette.
What restaurants and bars are nearby?
There are many dining options nearby, including those located on Challis Avenue, Macleay Street and Darlinghurst Road. Head to the Explore page and check out the 'Eat' and 'Drink' tabs for more information.
Is there a grocery store nearby?
Yes, there is a Woolworths supermarket located around the corner on Macleay Street. This is approximately a 2 minute walk from The Maisonette. Alternatively there is also a Coles supermarket located in the Kings Cross Centre on Darlinghurst Road, approximately a 10 minute walk from The Maisonette.
Are there any shopping locations nearby?

Yes, there are many shopping locations nearby including:

  • Potts Point exclectic shopping streets right outside your front door.
  • Queen Victoria Building
  • Pitt Street Mall
  • Westfield Sydney
  • The Strand Arcade
  • Oxford Street to Bondi

Is there a hospital nearby?
St Vincents Hospital is located at 390 Victoria St, Darlinghurst and is approximately a 20 minute walk from The Maisonette.
How do I get there?


By shuttle bus: Approximately 45-60 minutes. Information desks are located in the arrivals hall at both the T1 International and T3 Domestic terminals.

By train: Approximately 30-45 minutes. You will require an Opal Card to travel, purchased from the station, Relay or WH Smith. Trains run approximately every 10 minutes, change at Central Station for trains to Kings Cross. The Maisonette is a 10 minute walk from Kings Cross station.

By taxi/rideshare: Approximately 30-45 minutes. Follow signs to the taxi rank at the front of all terminals. For rideshare arrange to meet your driver at the dedicated priority pick-up area.

Is on-site parking available?

No, there is no on-site parking available at The Maisonette.

Off-site parking is available at Wilson's Kings Cross parking station on Ward Avenue, behind the Fountain for a discounted rate of $25. It's only an 8 minute walk to The Maisonette. This parking arrangement does not allow you to take your car in and out throughout the day - each discount ticket is for a 24 hour period and includes a one-time entry and one-time exit. It is most important that you collect and pay for your discount parking ticket from Reception, prior to returning to your car.
