Thinking of coming to Sydney this New Years Eve? People from all around the world flock to Sydney to celebrate the new year in this magical city, so make sure you plan early!
Here’s our brief guide to help you get a head start on planning.
Tips for watching the fireworks:
Perhaps the best piece of advice here is to watch the fireworks on the side of the bridge you are staying on. Crossing the bridge on New Years Eve can be incredibly difficult, and unless you want to waste your night on public transport, try not to venture too far from your accommodation.
Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens is one of our favourite vantage points for the fireworks display. They have four ticketed options each with their own theme, some inclusive of food to keep you well nourished throughout the night. Tickets sell out early, so make sure you check out their official website here for availability.
If you want to be on the water and under the fireworks why not book a harbour cruise? Tickets can range between $250-$500 and usually include food and drinks, some with entertainment . While this is an amazing experience, make sure you find a vessel that suits your food and music tastes.
There’s also a range of ticketed concerts and parties around Sydney to celebrate the New Year.
Our final piece of advice is to stay near the event you’re attending, as traveling after the fireworks or during can be tough work due to the crowds. Our Potts Point properties are just minutes from Sydney Harbour and the Royal Botanic Gardens.
Our properties in Randwick also make it easy to get into the city, or to enjoy the fireworks at the famous Coogee Beach. This is one of our busiest times of the year so even if you don’t have all your plans sorted, book your accommodation early so you don’t miss out!
