We are proud to announce Kellett Street is alive and well; and Ezra brings the vibe of cosmopolitan Tel Aviv to it's counterpart Potts Point. We say this because Tel Aviv has a similar Parisian feel like that of our beloved Potts Point and it's beautiful architecture and alfresco dining settings.
If you remember Kings Cross in the 1980's and 90's, especially Kellett Street in its heyday, with so many great eating establishments; then head straight to Ezra and you'll feel like you're back there again.
Ezra is beautiful from it's style to it's cuisine; experience the fusion from Ashkenazi - Eastern European, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavours but served with a special Sydney style, making it a real tastebud adventure. Combining fresh produce with punchy middle eastern flavours from the pickeled meze to the chicken with preserved lemon and garlic sauce. Plus some tasty tagines to smack and slurp your lips around with a zesty za'atar imported all the way from the middle east. There are hearty vegetarian dishes such as roasted cauliflower, haloumi and their signature Israeli type hummus (with the soft boiled egg on top). Charcoal-grilled meat dishes and the whole flathead or kingfish pastrami, skewered with green olive and pickled chilli, which is a definite crowd pleaser.
There’s also cold beers, spritzy cocktails and plenty of natural and nostalgic wines on the list; from your Aussie faves to some more unusal drops from Georgia, France and Italy to try.
The are two al fresco dining areas – one at the front and one out back. Don't forget to admire the New Yorker design of the space from Arabic style archway that was handmade by a Lebanese tiler in Beirut, plus the Eilat, (think Gold Coast in Israel) styled pink mural out the front, and framed lights of the entrance and bar brings everything together in this fabulous place.
