What are the reception's operating hours?

7:30AM - 8:00PM

If you are arriving after hours please contact Macleay Lodge direct to find out the late arrival instructions.

What time is check-in?

2:00PM

Please note: Our GWB members are offered priority check-in.

What time is check-out?

10:00AM

These guests must visit Reception staff to secure this free late check-out.

Can I store my luggage?
Yes, if you arrive prior to 2PM and your room is not ready, we would be happy to store your luggage.
Is on-site parking available?

No, there is no on-site parking available at Macleay Lodge.

Off-site parking is available at Wilson's Kings Cross parking station on Ward Avenue, behind the Fountain for a discounted rate of $25. It's only a 7 minute walk to Macleay Lodge. This parking arrangement does not allow you to take your car in and out throughout the day - each discount ticket is for a 24 hour period and includes a one-time entry and one-time exit. It is most important that you collect and pay for your discount parking ticket from Reception, prior to returning to your car.

How do I get there?

GETTING HERE FROM THE AIRPORT:

By shuttle bus: Approximately 45-60 minutes. Information desks are located in the arrivals hall at both the T1 International and T3 Domestic terminals.

By train: Approximately 30-45 minutes. You will require an Opal Card to travel, purchased from the station, Relay or WH Smith. Trains run approximately every 10 minutes, change at Central Station for trains to Kings Cross. Macleay Lodge is a 10 minute walk from Kings Cross station.

By taxi/rideshare: Approximately 30-45 minutes. Follow signs to the taxi rank at the front of all terminals. For rideshare arrange to meet your driver at the dedicated priority pick-up area.

What is the cancellation policy?

FLEXIBLE: If you have booked the Flexible Rate Type (including the Easter Rate) cancellation is free of charge until 2pm, 48 hours prior to your arrival date. Any booking modifications, including date changes and/or a full cancellation of your booking made within 48 hours of 2pm on your arrival date will incur a charge equivalent to the value of the first night booked. Any booking modifications requested after check in must occur at least 48 hours prior to the change taking place to avoid any charges. Payment will be taken upon check-in.

 

NON-REFUNDABLE: If you have booked the Non-Refundable Rate Type (including all Stay & Save Rates and the No Housekeeping Rate), any cancellation will incur the full cost of the booking, unless it is cancelled within 48 hours after the booking is made and more than 7 days prior to arrival. Booking modifications, including date changes are not allowed. Non-Refundable bookings will be charged in full upon booking confirmation.

 

NO SHOW POLICY: Failure to arrive at the property on the booked check-in date will be treated as a no-show and the remainder of the booking will be cancelled. If you have booked the Flexible Rate you will incur a charge equivalent to the first night of the booking. If you have booked any of the Non-Refundable Rates you will be charged the full cost of the booking.

 

BOOKING MODIFICATIONS: For bookings made on the Flexible Rate Type booking changes are subject to availability and any applicable charges. If a date change is possible, the originally booked nightly rate may be subject to change and a higher rate may apply.

For bookings made on any of the Non-Refundable Rate Types booking modifications are not allowed.

 

NEW YEARS EVE BOOKINGS: If any night falls between 27 December and 1 January (inclusive) your booking is fully pre-paid and non-refundable. Payment will be taken at the time of booking and modifications or cancellation are not allowed.

Are the rooms serviced daily?
No. A full service including linen change is provided every sixth day.
Is internet access provided?
Yes, we offer free unlimited wireless internet for all guests booking direct. If you have booked through a third party we also offer free wireless internet, however data limitations may apply.
Do you have a restaurant?
No, we do not have a restaurant at the property. Please see the "what restaurants and bars are nearby?" section for nearby dining options.
Do you have a lift / elevator?
No. Access to all three floors of the property is via stairs only.
Are baby cots and extra beds available?
No, unfortuantely there are no baby cots or extra beds available at Macleay Lodge.
Are there cooking facilities?
No, there are no cooking facilities at the property.
Are there laundry facilities?
No, there are no laundry facilities at the property.
Do you have a gym?
No, there are no gym facilities at the property.
Are pets allowed?
No, we do not allow pets. We do allow service animals, please speak with the property before your arrival if you will be travelling with a service animal.
Are there smoking rooms available?
No, our property and rooms are all smoke-free in accordance with NSW Legislation.
How far is it to the train station?
Kings Cross Train Station on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra line is a 10 minute walk to Macleay Lodge.
What restaurants and bars are nearby?
There are many dining options nearby, including those located on Challis Avenue, Macleay Street and Darlinghurst Road. Head to the Explore page and check out the 'Eat' and 'Drink' tabs for more information.
Is there a grocery store nearby?
Yes, there is a Woolworths supermarket located around the corner on Macleay Street. This is approximately a 1 minute walk from Macleay Lodge. Alternatively there is also a Coles supermarket located in the Kings Cross Centre on Darlinghurst Road, approximately a 10 minute walk from Macleay Lodge.
Are there any shopping locations nearby?

Yes, there are many shopping locations nearby including:

  • Paddy's Markets
  • Queen Victoria Building
  • Pitt Street Mall
  • Westfield Sydney
  • Westfield Bondi Junction

Is there a hospital nearby?
St Vincents Hospital is located at 390 Victoria St, Darlinghurst and is 1.3km from Macleay Lodge. St Lukes Private Hospital is located on Roslyn Street, Potts Point. This is approximately 700m from Macleay Lodge.
