The St Vincent’s Private and Public Hospital complex is one of Australia’s most iconic hospitals, founded in 1857 by the Sisters of Charity in Darlinghurst, they are renowned for their attention to care, and internationally recognised as training and research centres of excellence.

The hospital made global fame when Dr Victor Chang, the surgeon who set-up and performed the first successful heart and lung transplants in Australia. The specialist team at St Vincent’s today are still at the forefront of cardiology, lung and heart as well bone marrow transplantations, cardiology, cancer care, diabetes, AIDS/HIV, respiratory medicine, mental health and drug and alcohol services.

Located in neighbouring Darlinghurst, the hospital campus is close to our Potts Point properties, within easy walking distance (approximately 10-12 min walk) just up Victoria Street from the Coca Cola sign, passing through a tempting range of cafes and restaurants to have a break in between hospital visits.
